Our award-winning team has gone on to deploy their skills in the industry and in graduate school.

We are launching three new posts for the new academic year which are focussed around building more great content, expanding our audience and readership, and bringing new energy to our flagship publication.

These roles will start in September 2020 and run for one study block; they are designed to work as part of the Collaborative Project module. You will be given autonomy to develop the magazine in dialogue with key stakeholders and bespoke training to support you. These internships are excellent for increasing your employability and upskilling, and several similar schemes have led directly to students being hired in their desired career.

To apply for these posts please email d.devanny@falmouth.ac.uk by 13.00pm on Wednesday 6th May and include the following:

  • The title of the role you are applying for (you may apply for more than one)

  • A short description of your skills and experience (not more than 250 words)

  • A short description of why you would like this role (not more than 250 words)

  • A sample of your writing (not more than 250 words)

Appointments will be made by 13.00pm on Thursday 7th May

The amazing roles available

News and Events Editor

The editor in this role will be responsible for the content streams which cover news and events within the Falmouth Writing community, Falmouth University in general, and the literature and arts scene in Cornwall at large. You will be provided with press access to a wide range of events and you will make sure that FalWriting is up to date with what’s going on in our communities.

Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager will extend and develop the reach of the magazine across the key platforms and platforms of your choosing with flair and creativity. Social Media is an increasingly large employer of students from our courses, so if that’s your dream job, then this is the work placement for you!

Creative Editor

This is the broadest of the three new posts. The Creative Editor will write, commission and edit new creative content and new creative series for FalWriting, liaising with the student community, staff, and our wider professional writing contacts to deliver a high-end portfolio of eye-catching writing.
