Third Year Student Lands Digital Marketing Internship
English and Creative Writing student Kate Williams has begun working as a freelance marketing intern with New York-based digital PR agency Texter Communications.
For Kate, who is now in her third year, the internship is a great fit. "I'm aiming to one day manage my own team," she says, "or even run my own communications business. I also hope to eventually write and publish children’s books, and marketing will be an indispensable skill for that."
Texter Communications specialises in digital content production, syndication and lead generation in the digital sector. They support marketing teams across multiple industries, with a client list that includes GitLab, Rocket.Chat, Qumu, DispatchNY, and New York Entertainment.
"Working for an American company also makes me very aware about the language I’m using and TC has already taught me lots about interacting and targeting your customers through social media, and writing snappy and intelligent content. I’ve also learnt basics about engaging with people and growing your brand, which I am putting to good use and will be able to use in my future career."
TC is Manhattan-based, with team members in the UK and France and clients across the US, Europe and even South America.
“I’m really enjoying the freedom of remote working,” Kate says. “I’m able to work to my own schedule, which is allowing me to write my university essays and work another job, and it’s really exciting being part of a global team. Working remotely is a real benefit and I’m enjoying it so much that I am considering using it to go freelance in the future."
