This week in Post-Digital Content, students were tasks with thinking BIG, imagining they were making a piece of hero content for an existing franchise. Hero content is the high-cost, attention grabbing, innovative content that is more likely to go viral. Taking steps to think at that level can be challenging but extremely rewarding.

[VOICEOVER]

In a galaxy far far away, hope was born…

In orbit above a sand-coloured planet. The sound of laser fire can be heard before a LEGO ship race into view quickly followed by LEGO Imperial Star Cruiser. The Star Cruiser is firing a barrage of laser fire at the smaller ship.

EXT. THE SURFACE OF TATOOINE.

We see ANAKIN pod racing against SEBULBA. Sebulba is ramming his pod racer into his.

[VO]

A boy changes the galaxy…

INT. JEDI TEMPLE DURING ORDER 66.

[VO]

We don’t need to see that yet.

The footage speeds up passing the events of the future films before stopping.

INT. IMPERIAL STAR CRUISER.

KYLO REN is seen without his top on.

[VO]

NO! We are not doing them. I refuse.

Kylo looks down, saddened.

[YODA VO]

Understandable that is. Cover the TV series we will.

EXT. SPACE ABOVE ICE-COVERED PLANET.

A LEGO version of DIN DJARIN’s ship comes out of hyperspace.

INT: DIN DJARIN’S SHIP.

GROGU is sat on a seat behind Din as he pilots the ship.

[VO]

A bounty hunter must protect his little adoptive baby boy… Wait, is that your son?

[Yoda VO]

No comment I will make.

EXT. SUNSET LOOKING OVER THE LARS FAMILY FARM.

The twin sun of Tatooine is setting as LEGO JOKER steps out of the home.

[VO]

Mark, wrong franchise.

[MARK HAMILL]

Whoops, sorry!

LEGO Joker jumps back into the farmhouse before LUKE SKYWALKER emerges, wiping the last bits of the white face paint off. Luke then turns his back and looks out towards the suns.

[VO]

Play as some of your favourite heroes…

INT. REBEL BLOCKADE RUNNER.

LEGO DARTH VADER is cutting down rebels. He is joyfully humming to himself.

[VO Cont’d]

Or villains...

Footage of LEGO versions of DARTH MAUL fighting OBI-WAN and QUI-GON, Yoda Fighting COUNT DOOKU, ASHOKA fighting GENERAL GRIEVOUS, Obi-Wan fighting Anakin, EZRA fighting an INQUISITOR, Luke fighting Darth Vader and Luke fighting DARTH SIDIOUS.

[VO]

Play across your favourite films and TV series…

INT. RECORDING BOOTH.

HARRISON FORD sits on a stool holding a script, headphones on and a large mic in front of him. A puppet Yoda is next to him clearly being controlled by FRANK OZ.

[Harrison Ford]

This summer comes the release of… Are we really going with Star Wars: The Best Bits?

[Mark Hamill]

Look, it’s what the folk over at Disney want to call it, so yes. Just think of the money, Harrison. Look what I did for the sequels!

[Harrison Ford]

Ugh fine. Star Wars: The Best Bits

EWAN MCGREGOR walks next to Harrison Ford.

[Ewan McGregor]

Wasn’t too hard now, was it?

[Yoda]

Hmmm… acting you didn’t have to do. Easy it was for him. Thankful you should be that JAR-JAR BINKS is not here.

[Jar-Jar Binks]

It's ‘a me.

[Harrison Ford]

NOO!

Cut to games logo. It reads Star Wars Episodes 1-6 and Filler.
