Lost Ticket: Memories by Jasper Evans
Memories
single to lost-
no return, the floating jar
cultured on the aging shelf
dusty ticket coat rack sitting
drumming fingers wind the moment
off tempo, sagging shock
bear loses his watch, but where?
lucid seconds on the clock
malt ticket vorpal clot
bladderwrack jabberwock
these are the days like this, these days
he says, these days tears camp his nose
skilling breeze, turnstile decays
flowers at the plastic hole
the waiting bedroom populated
empty window flapping,
neighbour ocean creeping
iodine fix come under, stay
control a rotting sucker
memories removed by pots
dust motes lost in wind
sodium mites at muzzle cusp
rock garden, slate, tin
tile and rubble, bed sheet soaking salt
bear slips the house, the journey
lost ticket on express
to brine from malt
jars’ controlled decay ferment
fallen pop, slips away
solution forgotten, falling flat
the diffuse thrill of the carbonated moment
cracked before a place dissolved
just like intent, regret to forget
forget regret forget
FORGET REGRET FORGET
