GILES' HOUSE - NIGHT

MR GILES (male, middle aged, glasses) is knelt down before a young RUPERT (small for his age, 10 years old). His hands are on his son's shoulders. RUPERT is holding the Shard of Stronnos. A demon lays dead in the background.

MR GILES

You cannot escape your destiny.

WATCHERS ACADEMY OUTSIDE - DAY

Remix builds.

A car drives up to the Watcher's Academy. Young RUPERT looks out the window. MR GILES opens the door for his son.

WATCHERS ACADEMY MAIN HALL - DAY

Rows of children, aged from seven to eighteen sit on chairs.

WATCHERS ACADEMY HEADMASTERS OFFICE - NIGHT

Young RUPERT sits on a chair facing the HEADMASTER (balding, fat, mean expression). He is shy and cowering. The HEADMASTER sits behind his wooden desk. EDNA (old woman, sprightly for her age) stands facing the HEADMASTER, visibly angry.

This is how you train watchers? By bringing children to be slaughtered?

HIGHGATE CEMETERY - NIGHT

A now eighteen year old RUPERT hides behind a gravestone, hands over his ears. There are sounds of slaughter in the background.

RUPERT (V.O.)

I never imagined this life for myself

Cut to:

RUPERT is facing MR GILES, now taller than him. Both are angry

RUPERT

You forced me into this. I don't want it, you can't make me anymore!

OXFORD UNIVERSITY COURTYARD - DAY

Remix continues to build.

RUPERT is seen crossing the courtyard surrounded by other students.
