'A Response to Tommy Pico’s 'Nature Poem'’ by Lizzie Wesbroom

I can write a nature poem because I woke up tired, I felt hungry, and I have the desire to clean myself.

I did not make my own clothes or build the house I live in, but I have instincts that move me.

My lack of rationality is what enables me to write a nature poem.

I feel like an observer. A liver. Something that will cease.

Therefore, I can write a nature poem.
