Below Densham’s Delight: Fungus Symbiosis
Slow
moving through
underground dreamscape,
where stories of mycorrhizae
bloom into
secret depths.
I am monstrously alive.
Folktale nutrients,
phosphorus, nitrogen, sulphur,
are the words I paint
roots with,
forming my own
tree from tree.
I am
the hidden forest.
Other Apples in the Orchard 2
The death of an apple
is more unsettling than its life.
You forget it is there under leaf fall,
its auburn decay blends with autumn
until you step on it –
snow melt texture.
