Lost Ticket: Fix by Max King
Fix
Bear loves plastic flowers
in broken pots
because they don’t look smug
amongst his odd possessions
he supposes there’s no use
in a spirit level if everything is crooked
a house on the hill
slanted by coastal wind
he fixes things
by moving and re-slanting them
the lamp tilts east
but can’t be plugged in
there’s broken mirrors
and shattered windows
the kettle sings morning mantras
and the gulls join in
but he just hears the wind
WIND
MIRRORS
