Content Call For Spectral Visions Press’s New Anthology: PANDEMIC
Spectral Visions Press is a non-profit publishing house run by The University of Sunderland. They’ve been up and running since the release of their inaugural self-titled collection, Spectral Visions, in 2014. This year they are producing 18+ books, including a three-volume anthology book series with the theme PANDEMIC, for which Spectral Visions Press is currently seeking student submissions. They aim to capture the tone and emotion of this moment in history, with a fun and stylish gothic twist.
Submission requirements
Students have free rein in terms of style. Short stories have a 5,000-word limit, and students can submit poetry provided they stick to a fifty-line limit. Accepted submissions will be published in the most appropriate volume.
Each volume has a slightly different focus:
1) For Vol. 1 students could write about zombies, or a similar monstrous/horror story with a pandemic theme.
2) For Vol. 2 students could write in any style about a past pandemic, real or fictional.
3) Vol. 3 is a children’s volume. It has free rein on what students want to write about, provided they stick to the theme of pandemic and keep in mind that this volume is intended for children aged 9 and up.
The deadline for the submissions is the 16th of January 2021, but if students need longer the deadline may be extended by a month.
How to submit
All information has been provided by Luci Hollinshead, who has encouraged interested students to email her with submissions or further questions at l.hollinshead2@gmail.com
