Opportunity Coming Up: North Cornwall Book Festival

Students from all years in Falmouth’s English and Creative Writing cohorts are invited to attend the North Cornwall Book Festival, on 6 and 7 October in St Endellion, north Cornwall.

This festival offers a feast of literary delights, with a packed programme of talks and workshops by leading writers and poets. However spaces are limited so please book soon to reserve your place. Cutoff for bookings is Wednesday, 26 September at 5 pm.

The North Cornwall Book Festival offers something for everyone from lifewriting, to storytelling, from poetry to folksong, from narrative illustration to spectacular Cornish impressionism, from household names to the big names of the future. And we can’t wait to share it all with you.

This year’s programme includes author talks and workshops by guests like publishing legend Joanna Trollope, Booker shortlisted novelist Fiona Mozley, celebrated novelist and screenwriter Patrick Gale, our own Wyl Menmuir (once Writer in Residence, now one of our esteemed lecturing staff) speaking about his Booker longlisted novel The Many, bestselling children’s author Jill Murphy, multi-award winning author Anne Enright, and many more.

A coach will be provided for English & Writing students from the Falmouth Campus and the Penryn Campus to the venue and back.

This includes tickets to all the daytime talks on Saturday and Sunday. Those in the Book Festival collaborative project will also be able to attend on Friday.

Students must take suitable clothing and footwear as well as any spending money you require for food, drink, workshops etc.
