National Trust Publishing Project Launched
Our National Trust Publishing Project has launched! This Spring our English and Writing students will be bringing a book from concept to completion with Writer in Residence Wyl Menmuir.
An exciting new project is taking place in Falmouth’s community. The National Trust are making a first foray into student publishing with help from our talented students. The charity will also be collaborating with our Writer in Residence, Wyl Menmuir.
The outcome of this project will be a manuscript to be produced for the South West Outdoor Festival in September. This manuscript will be written by Menmuir, and linked to a National-Trust protected landscape.
Katie Bond, who is head of Marketing at The National Trust and is working closely with us on the project, has previous credits including marketing the Harry Potter series at Bloomsbury.
Students will be able to help in this project by following the process all the way through. This project is an amazing opportunity for students as it adds to experience and could help give a boost to possible publishing careers.
Falmouth’s community continually shows how creative it can be, and this project allows more and more students from our community to show their talents. Falmouth students often go into careers in the publishing field, so this represents an amazing opportunity for students who want to explore the processes involved, while getting fantastic mentorship from Wyl and Katie.
